About This Site
RealEstateCalc is an independent Australian property and finance resource. We build free calculators and write research-backed guides to help Australians make informed decisions about buying, selling, and investing in property.
All calculator formulas are tested against official rates and thresholds from the ATO, state revenue offices, and ASIC Moneysmart. Our articles cite primary sources — government publications, RBA data, and industry research — and are updated when rates or rules change.
We are based in Australia and focused exclusively on Australian property and finance topics.
Editorial Standards
Our editorial process is designed so that what we publish is accurate, sourced, and independent of our commercial relationships. The principles below apply to every calculator and article on the site.
- Primary sources first. Rates, thresholds, and rules are taken from the ATO, state and territory revenue offices, the RBA, APRA, ABS, and ASIC Moneysmart rather than third-party summaries.
- Tested formulas. Calculator outputs are tested against worked examples published by the issuing authority where available.
- Dated data. Where a page uses a figure that changes over time, we state the period or "as at" date.
- Editorial independence. We do not accept payment to publish favourable coverage or to alter calculations. See our Affiliate Disclosure.
- Corrections. If we publish an error of fact, we correct it as soon as it is brought to our attention. Material corrections are noted on the page.
- Use of AI. We use AI tools to support drafting and research, but every page is reviewed and edited before publication.
For full detail of our sources and update cadence, see the Methodology page.
