About Subiaco
Subiaco is one of Perth's most sought-after inner suburbs, located approximately three kilometres west of the CBD. The suburb is centred on Rokeby Road, a charming shopping and dining strip featuring independent boutiques, specialty food stores, bookshops, and some of Perth's best cafés and restaurants. The character of Subiaco is defined by its beautifully preserved Federation-era homes, many with ornate verandahs and established gardens, alongside California bungalows, heritage workers' cottages, and tasteful modern apartment developments. The suburb borders Kings Park, one of the world's largest inner-city parks, providing 400 hectares of bushland, botanical gardens, and sweeping views of the Perth skyline and Swan River. The former Subiaco Oval site is being redeveloped into a major residential and mixed-use precinct that will add significant new housing and public spaces. Subiaco Market Square and the surrounding streets offer weekend dining and entertainment. Transport is excellent, with Subiaco station on the Fremantle train line providing services to both Perth CBD and Fremantle in under ten minutes, plus bus routes along Hay Street and Rokeby Road. The suburb is home to Perth Modern School, one of Western Australia's top academic schools. Subiaco appeals to professionals seeking premium inner-city living, families who value character homes near Kings Park and excellent schools, and downsizers wanting walkable urban convenience.
